Rei (Ai Otsuka) went to Tokyo to work. She ended up joining a band called Survival Company in additional to having a regular job as a waitress. The band lead Ryuji (Eita), who became very close with Rei, decided to join another band, but that band dissolved before it could release their first album. After that, Ryuji was nowhere to be found. Rei became the lead singer, and not long after Survival Company was signed to produce an album. Rei heard that Ryuji went to New York, and she decided to go there to pursue the love between her and Ryuji that never started...

The story of the film is not very complicated. It is the kind that is comfortable to watch, but at the same time you cannot find many surprises. In fact, it follows a very typical Japanese film formula.

The friendship among Rei and her friends is admirable. So far I have not experienced the same kind of closeness in a group of friends, despite I have a lot of good ones. The film gives you a strong feeling for the friendship and also the stubborn admiration for Ryuji by Rei. It is an emotional film.
