The Sun was dying and nations worldwide worked together to send a spaceship to the Sun, trying to re-ignite the Sun with a bomb. The mission failed as the spaceship disappeared during the journey. Seven years later, another spaceship was sent for the mission. During the journey, the crew thought they found the first spaceship. Because of a miscalculation, a crew member was killed, and some more were killed, too, after the search for the first spaceship. Towards the end of the mission, it was found that an unknown person boarded the spaceship, and the mission was going to fail again…

When I first saw the trailer of the film, I was drawn to the film. I learned from documentaries that billion years later, the sun will die, and so will the Earth. So, the background of the story fascinates me. But somehow, I do not like the film much. The behaviors of the character were too pretentious. At the end of the story, the flames of the Sun did not destroy the ship and the crew. I wonder what that means and what the fate of the crew were (or is it subject to individual's interpretation?). I had the same feeling as watching the low-rated "Lost in Space".

I also wonder why Michelle Yeoh and Hiroyuki Kaneda would want to play a part in this film. Stars like them would seek roles that they can show off their talents. They should have the leverage to ask for better roles in better films. Are their careers going downhill that they want these roles to expose themselves to the international market?
