Kiyoha (Anna Tsuchiya) was sold by her family to a brothel during the Edo period in Yoshiwara District. She promised herself that when the dying cherry blossom tree blossomed, it would be her time to leave the brothel. She became a geisha when she grew up later, and she strived to become the oiran (top girl in a geisha house). A lord fell in love with her and decided to marry her. When she was about to marry the lord, the dying cherry blossom tree blossomed…

The film depicts the scene of a traditional geisha house and the politics in such. It is entertaining and at the same time eye-opening. The story reminds me of Memoirs of a Geisha, although I tend to believe that this film's description of a geisha house is more authentic.

One point that I like much about the film is that the film looks pleasingly colorful. Also, Anna Tsuchiya's beauty also makes the film very attractive.
