Boog (Martin Lawrence/Eason Chan) was a Grizzly bear under the supervision of park ranger Beth (Debra Messing). Because Boog was perceived as too dangerous, he was to be released to the wild. It was the same time as the beginning of hunting season. While in the wild, Boog knew a new friend Elliot (Ashton Kutcher/Jan Lamb), a moose. In order to survive, the two friends, teamed up with other animals, fought back against the hunters.

The story is just okay with no big surprises. The film is geared towards to please the younger audience. The message behind the story is the importance of teamwork, which pretty much is a good topic for its target audience.

The Cantonese dubbing is a bit boring. Jan Lamb did an okay job for the voice of Elliot, but Eason Chan's work is less than admirable. This is just not his talent. I always wonder why the Hong Kong distributors emphasize so much on the dubbing cast when the artists in Hong Kong are not too good at that. We need some professionals in this respect.
