《海猿》的劇情很緊湊，假設郵輪的危險情況亦充滿戲劇性，緊張之餘亦不乏攪笑情節。唯末段主角求婚一段有點牽強及阻住地球轉，這可說是曰本戲劇的文化，最鍾意說教。

全片基本上都是集中於男主角的身上，其他演員都成為他的襯托品。可幸是男主角的演出沒有讓大家失望。女主角的戲份不多，但她在僅有的埸面當中也傾了全力演出，可說是一個驚喜。

故事結局帶點草率，happy ending雖說是意料之內，但也有點看似不可能。

《海猿》電影已拍了兩套，但願出品人及導演明白見好即收的道理。
