The story is about Shinzuru (Aoi Miyazaki), who had a rare disease, fell in love with Makato (Hiroshi Tamaki). They had a part of the forest where they spent a lot of time together. Because of her disease, she had to receive hormone treatment which prevented her from growing. During the university life with Makato, he befriended with another girl Ryo (Munetaka Aoki). To fulfill her dream to love Makato, Shinzuru decided to grow up and put her life at risk...
With the same writers of Be With You (novel Takuji Ichikawa) and Midnight Sun (screenplay Kenji Bando), Heavenly Forest is bound to be an emotional love story that touches your heart. In fact, the film exceeds my expectation. The film is easy to watch and impressive in a lot of ways. Acting is good and the scenes are great. It is very unfortunate that the film is shown only on one screen in Hong Kong.
