In this latest installment of the Fantastic Four, Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) and Sue Storm (Jessica Alba) were trying to get married the fifth time. Meanwhile, the Silver Surfer (Doug Jones, voice by Laurence Fishburne) arrived at the Earth to destroy all lives on the planet. After the fight with the Silver Surfer, Johnny Storm (Chris Evans) was injured. Later, Victor von Doom (Julian McMahon) tried to build an alliance with the Silver Surfer. Although he failed, he found the secret to Silver Surfer's power, and offered to fight the Silver Surfer together with the Fantastic Four and the US army. However, von Doom's motive was still as evil as can be...
I heard more than one person saying that this second episode of the series is better than the first one. However, I do not quite agree. It is true that the film is quite entertaining, but the dialog was written quite badly in a lot of sequences. Also, Sue Storm by Jessica Alba does not look as attractive as in the first installment. The biggest blow to the film is that the victory of Earth was not due to the effort of the Fantastic Four or other Earthlings. This is only the second episode and the writers are willing to show the "incompetence" of the US Army and Fantastic Four.
In any case, the film is entertaining, but lack the elements to make it a memorable film.
