Ben (Sean Biggerstaff), a art college student, broke up with his
girlfriend and then he could not sleep any more. With 50% more in
any given day to spend, he started to do a job in a supermarket.
He found that he could also stop time, and he had even more "time"
to do the things that he wanted to, like drawing nude female, any
where, any time. He began to develop love interest with his fellow
worker Sharon (Emilia Fox). In a party, Sharon saw Ben kissing his
ex-girlfriend, but it was not what it looked like. In any case,
Sharon left Ben. Ben was tricked into sending his art work to a
local gallery. Despite not invited, he was asked to arrange a formal
interview. He had his exhibition, but nothing was enough to compensate
for the loss of Sharon as his girlfriend.
The film is a remake of the short of the same name by the same
director. The films is kind of artsy, Many transitions from one
scene to another have a lot of thoughts put into, making the film
smooth and very much appreciated. Despite being artsy, it is not
a boring film. In all the artsy films that I have seen so far, this
film is the most entertaining one, and actually comparable to a
commercial comedy in terms of entertainment value. Many characters
are likable. Ben and Sharon are of course 2 of them, but the other
staffers in the supermarket are also good.
The film is shown in only 2 theaters, but like I have said above
it is a good film to watch.
