"Underworld: Evolution" is the sequel of "Underworld" released in 2003. The beginning of the film gives a recap of the first episode to let the viewers understand the flow of the story. I have not seen the first episode and the introduction did help me understand a little bit about the subject of the story. However, I would recommend those who are interested to watch this film to rent and watch the first episode first.

The story is not about much. As you would expect from a film of the same genre, the story is quite predictable. The selling point is the comic characteristics to a great extent. Of course, the heroine style of Kate Beckinsale as Selene is also a feature in the film. Beckinsale has got the beautiful and style to carry the film to a certain level. But a fantasy thriller is still a fantasy thriller. More mature viewers may find the film not quite entertaining, while the younger generation would find more that they can enjoy.
