Film of the 30th Hong Kong International Film Festival

The story is about a 17 year old boy in Sichuan who wanted to find his lost father from the city back to the village, despite being stopped by his mother, before the village population was to be moved elsewhere as a result of flood threats. In the city, he was helped by a number of people, but there were also people who asked him to give up and go back to the village. In the end, he found his father, and the ending is quite a surprise.

The video is quite well made considering the budget and equipment used in the filming. Because of technical restriction, movement of the camera is very little. In any case, the pictures in the video are generally pleasing. Acting of the cast is up to standard considering that the actors are just friends of the director.

However, despite the persistence of the main character in searching for his father, the character does not seek any sympathy from the audience. He is not a likable character. With that, the audience may not feel much for him.

In sum, it is a good video for what is put into it.
