《詭絲》是一個出色的故事，內裡融合中國傳統流傳鬼魅的個性，但又以現代科學儀器去研究其特質的因由。再加上由張震飾演的警察去跟蹤鬼魅以圖解破其成為幽靈的來龍去脈，其佈局的精細是一般鬼片少有的。此外，戲情每每出人意表，加上緊湊節奏，驚嚇的部份亦恰到好處，是一部不可多得的鬼片。

此片由中、台及日本當紅的演員主演，可見片商對此片寄予厚望。三地的演員的表現亦沒有令觀眾失望，反而是其片名過於平凡，是此電影的一大敗筆。

故事最後歌頌母子情誼，為原先的恐怖元素加添溫馨。鬼片已進化到此境界，善長此方面的彭氏兄弟恐怕又要發揮無窮創意才可奪回鬼片專家的美譽。
