此片由名導演活地亞倫執導。最難得是他仍可保持水準，每次也帶驚喜給觀眾，不像香港八、九十年代那批名導，今時今日又拍番一些食老本電影，並不能與時並進。

故事以一個普通人有幸被富貴家庭睇中，一登龍門後色心又起，現實與理想博鬥下，唯有選擇妥協。故事結尾並非惡人有惡報。有錢有地位時，真相也可活埋，是現實寫照。

男主角尊立頓麥亞斯靚仔得來又懂做戲，可以是Jude Law的接班人。女主角史嘉莉祖安遜所飾演的性感尤物，其身材是配合的，亦看得出她已努力演出。唯獨她並沒有像樂基兒那張厚厚性感咀兒，感覺始終差些少。或許這就是欠缺酥在骨子裡的風韻。

全片沒有悶場，每一幕也捕捉了觀眾的目光。導演做到藝術與商業味並重。但，中文戲名有點摸不著頭腦。
