Despite the fact that it is a sequel to "I Not Stupid",
you do not need to watch the episode to appreciate the sequel.
This time, the story circles around appreciation and parenting,
or the lack of them. The film accuses parents of not appreciating
their kids' good behaviors. Instead, they focus on the bad sides
of the kids. Also, as put by the film, many parents spent too much
time on their businesses and leave alone their kids. To a certain
extent, the accusation is pretty valid. Parents may find it enlightening.
Despite that the film involve serious topics, it has its lighter
side. The first half, especially, is full of comedy bits. In this
half, many of the comedy bits are about the childishness of parents.
It is the second half that is serious. As you may now expect, there
is inconsistency in the styles between the first half's and the
second half's. This is probably the only thing that I do not like
about the film.
I watched the film in the giant screen in Tamar Site. The experience
is great although there are some shadows on the screen because of
the lighting around the venue. Unfortunately, Tamar Site will not
host the open air screening next year. Let's hope that a comparable
place could be found for open air screening.
