Nana Osaki (Mika Nakashima) and Nana Komatsu (Aoi Miyazaki) met each other on the train to Tokyo. Komatsu was moving to Tokyo to meet her boyfriend while Osaki was moving to Tokyo to start a new life. Coincidentally, they were considering renting the same room, and eventually they decided to room together. Komatsu was a fan of Osaki's old boyfriend who played guitar in a band. Komatsu found that out and wanted to get Osaki a chance to meet the guy again. At the same time, Komatsu's boyfriend was working in a restaurant, and fell in love with another waitress...

Storywise, there are not many surprises in the film. However, somehow I feel that this film is quite good. The film is quite easy to watch, and the story quite brought out the emotion of the audience. I heard that the film in 1995 outsold the highest grossed blockbuster of 2004 "Be with You" in Japan. I am a bit surprised because of the exceptionally high quality of "Be with You". In any case, this reflects how people accept the film and how much people enjoyed it.
