《我要孭飛》的故事其實是個悲哀的愛情故事：沒戲拍的三流演員丈夫要與患癌的妻子渡過人生最後的一段路。此片出色的地方是導演反傳統的以輕鬆角度去拍攝，令故事更淒美，更扣動心靈。導演在處理多場丈夫與妻子互相關懷的劇情時，都能拍出感情的細膩。除愛情線外，此片亦描述沙煲兄弟情，由最初各顧各至為老友而赴湯蹈火，為朋友的妻子可釋懷的離世而出一份力，為美麗的謊言作一個合理的詮釋。
此片沒有煸情的場面。有的是令人回味，細水長流的情懷。
