Reed Richards (Ioan Gruffudd), Sue Storm (Jessica Alba), her brother Johnny Storm (Chris Evans), Ben Grimm (Michael Chiklis), and Victor Von Doom (Julian McMahon) were sent to space to study DNA. Unexpectedly, they were exposed to massive amount of cosmic radiation which altered their DNA. All of them gained superpowers while Grimm's outlook was changed completely. With the fall of his business, Von Doom used his superpower to take revenge on his business partners. The other four tried to reverse their changes, and at the same time tried to stop the evil of Von Doom.

The film is another Fox-Marvel partnership. Like the other films from this partnership, the film is based on a popular comic book. Compared to the other Fox-Marvel films, this one seems to be the better one. I did not like "Dare Devil" and "Elektra" much because of the character of the protagonists, and I had a low expectation on this film. It turns out that it is much better than the other two, despite the film is still too comic.

The story explains the birth of the Fantastic Four, how each one of the four got their nicknames, why they wear their Fantastic Four suits, and how they stopped the evil of Dr. Doom. I think all these aspects are not great. Usually, it does no good for such explanations. The reasons, as explained in the film, why they are called Fantastic Four and how they got their nicknames is so unreal and stupid. The reason why they need to wear their uniform is unscience. The fact that they fight only the person who went to space with them is disappointing.

However, the entertainment value of the film is high. CG is great. Also, Jessica Alba's appearance saves the film a whole lot. Somehow, she as the Invisible Girl keeps the male audience's hearts pounding. I found out that she was Max in the TV serried "Dark Angel". No wonder she plays her role in this film so well.

Due to the nature of the film, you cannot get much more than entertainment from it. If entertainment is the only thing you look for, "Fantastic Four" is not a bad choice.
