This film is half documentary and half drama, or perhaps you can say it is a different kind of documentary. The story is about the adventure a team of 2 British mountaineers, Simon Yates and Joe Simpson, who tried to climb Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes in 1985. It describes how they got into their troubles and almost died on their way downhill. The film features the narration by the mountaineers themselves who talked about their whole experience in that trip, happened almost 20 years ago.

If handled carelessly, the film can be one of the most boring films. However, it was done so well that the value for entertainment of this film surpasses a lot of dramas. Apart from the event itself, there is a lot of time devoted in describing the pain suffered by Joe and the brotherhood between the two people. It is a film that is worth your time.
