The film consists of 3 unrelated stories from 3 different countries: Hong Kong, Japan, and Korea. Each segment is about 40 minutes long.
The Hong Kong segment is the shortened version of the recently released film "Dumpling". It is not solely a shortened version as the ending of the segment is different than the feature film version. In any case, you may refer to my review of "Dumpling" for my comments on this segment.
The Japan segment is "Box", a story about a girl Kyoko having burnt her sister to death while having her sister locked in a box when she was very young. The film describes the guilt felt by Kyoko when she had grown up, where her guilty feeling haunted her almost every day. The ending is a bit difficult to understand, but on the whole the segment is quite an interesting one.
The Korea segment is "Cut". The story is about film director Ryo Ji-Ho, an almost perfect man, being tied up in his home by an extra. The extra tied Ryo's wife to her piano, cutting out her fingers one by one as time went by. The extra asked Ryo to kill a child he brought to exchange for stopping the cutting. The story is quite interesting. It probably wants to talk about that every person possesses some imperfection.
The film as a whole is supposed to be a thriller. However, I do not feel that it is too scary. The file is a Cat III film probably only because of the Hong Kong segment where there were some disturbing scene. In any case, it is not bad to watch.
