此片令筆者欣賞的，並不是導演的拍攝手法或演員的演技。老實說，這兩方面都是平平無奇，尤其是此片的節奏，慢得有點難以忍受。或許是文化不同的關係吧，筆者最喜歡的，反而是戲中父親教導子女的方法：故意袖手旁觀，讓子女獨自面對困境，獨自承受其決定的結果。這雖有點偏激，但總好過現今香港的父母親那種過份保護子女的行徑，形成子女不懂判斷，不用思考（因父母已一早為子女鋪好他們認為是最好的路），沒有自信，毫無主見，遇到困難或需要決擇便呆了或承受不了壓力，愛反成害。請為人父母者注意。
