Dae-su Oh (Min-sik Choi) was kidnapped and jailed for 15 years by an unknown person. Even though he listed all the people he might have angered, he had no idea who could have done this to him. When he was released, he met a girl Mi-do (Hye-jeong Kang) whom he had seen on TV. She fell in love with him and they together tried to find out who jailed him. It turned out that he was unaware of his "crime", and he was punished with more than the 15-year jail time.

The story is not only interesting. The pace of the film is faster than most Korean films and this makes the film an exciting one. The film is pretty successful in giving the viewers the feeling of suspense of the story. The viewers can feel the mystery and tension as Oh, and feel his anger and pain, too. The ending of the story is quite a twist, although some experienced viewers might think ahead enough that they can figure out the second punishment for Oh.

The film has won the Jury Prize of the 2004 Cannes Festival. I think the film deserves it. It is a film not to miss.
