《愛的綠洲》是一個由童話式開始而以現實作終結的故事。囚犯愛上嚴重智障女孩， 哪怕真的只會在電影中出現？此片出色的地方可從兩方面看。其一是導演與編劇透過兩位主角的遭遇， 揭露韓國社會對囚犯及智障人士普遍存在著的歧視。其二是片中女主角的出色演技。導演很聰明地在片中故意加上幾幕女主角的幻想， 讓觀眾明白女主角並非真正的嚴重智障女孩，從而對其精彩的演出讚不絕口。基於取材與演員表現都令人難以忘記，實是韓國不可多得的電影。
