Although the title of the film suggests that this film is a sequel to the popular 2001 film "The Eye", and that the story has something to do with eyes, this film is not what you think it is, except it is a horror film.

Joey (Shu Qi) tried to commit suicide for love in a hotel in Thailand, but she was rescued as part of her plan. Afterwards, she began to see spirits wherever she went. She also found out she was pregnant. She found that a female ghost was following her all the time, and she believed that the ghost was trying to hurt her still unborn baby. Later, she found that the ghost was related to the father of the baby...

The first episode of "The Eye" was so highly acclaimed that it is extremely difficult to make a second episode that can be comparable to the first. As a matter of fact, although the film itself is quite an achievement, cannot beat the first one. The reasonableness of the second episode, though, seems to be better than the first (I still do not understand why a Hong Kong blind girl would receive an organ from overseas for transplant), but the audience seems to be pretty dissatisfied by the survival of the protagonist's fell from height suicide.

Although not necessarily a theme, the story does suggest that not all things are what they seem to be. Something that you think is going to hurt you, or your child, may be what you really need. That can be something that we can put some thoughts on.

In sum, the film is quite a good one to watch. There are not many good local films recently, so this one would stand out like its previous episode.
