Matthew (Michael Pitt) from US was a foreign student in Paris in 1968. He knew a pair of local twins Isabelle (Eva Green) and Theo (Louis Garrel), who were both film buffs. They often asked each other about the details of the films they have watched and whoever lost would have to do some eccentric things, often erotic. After failing to answer a question from the twins and he was asked to have sex with Isabelle. The eccentricity went on…

The story is quite an odd one, and of course erotic. One would wonder whether similar things happen in real life. This film includes a few sequences of some older films, where the sequences switch between clips from the old films and this film's original one which almost look exactly like the old films'. This is very difficult but is well done, and is what I appreciate most in the whole film.
