Dodgeball is a comedy with the elements of fitness center and sports (the game of dodgeball). The main character Peter is about to loss his Average Joe Gym owing to liquidity issues. The fitness center is about to be taken over by his rival, Goodman of Go Bo Gym. In order to raise the money need to save the fitness center, a couple of loyal members of the Average Joe Gym decide to join the dodgeball competition. In order to succeed in the take over plan, Go Bo Gym also formed a team to compete in the competition. As you can expect, the two teams meet head-to-head in the final game.

The elements of fitness center and sports are particularly appealing to the audience as it is the major trend to go to fitness center nowadays. The dodge ball game is something new, making the film differentiated from other sports-based comedies. The characters being hit hard by the ball during practice and the competition is a really funny element. The choice of actors is good. Several of the actors have some natural funny facial features, which really help brining out the personality of the characters, making the film funnier to watch.

With simple story line, the dodgeball and nicely structured gags along the story, it is one of the most enjoyable sport-based comedies.
