"De-Lovely" is a film of the musical genre about the life of the talented composer Cole Porter (Kevin Kline), detailing his bisexuality, his love towards Linda (Ashley Judd), his success in career, and his old-age life.

This film uses a very unique perspective, which is from Cole's afterdeath view. The whole story is basically a flashback in Cole's mind. His life came back to life in front of him on stage in the film. Filled with songs and dances, the film is quite entertaining. Although Kline's singing may not be the best, the songs sound good enough to me. As a matter of fact, Porter was not a great singer, either.

A distinguish element in the film is the make-up of the actors. The story covers tens of years of Porter's life, and Kline and Judd looked young when the Porters were supposed to be young, and they looked naturally old when the characters were old.

As a musical, it may not get as much attention as "Chicago" or "Moulin Rouge", but still I very much believe that it is worth the time to watch.
