5 guys and 2 girls, Lily (Stephy Tang) and Sophie (Theresa Fu) went to Sophie's house on an island and stay the night there. One of the guys Ken (Don Lee) was Lily's boyfriend, but during the game of Truth and Dare, he said he loved Sophie. That made Lily furious and she said she wanted him dead most. The next day, Ken was found dead. Nobody had any idea what happened. Since then Sophie left Hong Kong. One year later, Sophie was back in Hong Kong, and each person in the group received an invitation by Ken to go back to the house for a reunion. Noting that they could not reject an invitation from the dead, they all went there again. The guys died one after another on the island, and Lily's and Sophie's lives were also in jeopardy.

This is another Herman Yau film released recently. The other one is Astonishing. Somehow, the 2 films are very different. Like "Astonishing", the film is a low-budget film. But unlike the same, the technical side of the film is done much better. However, it does not automatically mean that Dating Death is better. Obviously, the two films are targeting two different markets. Dating Death's script is much simpler and the cast consists of teenager idols, targeting the younger generation. The acting of the cast is a pass and that is it. As a matter of fact, if you are sophisticated, you probably will find Dating Death not for you, but secondary school students would probably enjoy it very much.
