The story is about the life of the once male Thai kickboxer Nong Toom, now a female model, from his quest to the top in kickboxing to his change in his gender after he got famous. The story has quite a bit of similarities with the Irons Ladies series. In both cases, the stories are based on real life events. However, Beautiful Boxes is more serious in exploring the lives of famous transvestites in Thailand. That does not mean that the film is boring. In fact, it is much more entertaining that the Iron Ladies.
