Lucy Whitmore (Drew Barrymore) lost her ability to form new memory after a car accident. She would forget everything she experienced during the day once she went to bed. Henry Roth (Adam Sandler) fell in love with her after meeting her in a local cafe. He found out that he had a problem: She always forgot him the next day. He tried every way to woo her every day in order to win her heart, day after day, after day…
The idea of film probably came partly from Memento (one of my all time most favorite films) for the inability to form new memory. However, the theme of this film is very different. The script is very "Hollywood". One third through the film you pretty much would know how the story is heading, and what the ending would be. With this respect, the film can only be considered an average film.
Apart from the protagonists, Rob Schneider's character Ula is quite worth mentioning. You can expect much laughter when you see Schneider's presence. In the film, it is no exception. If you are only looking for some laughs, 50 First Dates is not too bad a choice.
