Chris (Desmond Harrington) was driving for an interview out of town in West Virginia. The main road was closed, so he took a dirt road shortcut. Accidentally, he hit a 4x4 stopped at the middle of the road, where Jessie (Eliza Dushku), Carly (Emmanuelle Chriqui), Scott (Jeremy Sisto), Francine (Lindy Booth), and Evan (Kevin Zegers) of the 4x4 were trying to figure out what to do with their disabled vehicle. Francine and Evan stayed behind to look after the cars, while the other four tried to find a nearest phone to call for help. They entered into a strange house, and they later found that Francine and Evan were killed by the owners, or monsters, of the house. They then had to run for their own lives...

The plot is a very typical horror of this kind: a group of young people getting killed one by one, and from time to time, the audience would be tricked into believing that somebody would be killed when the situation was less than harmless. If you just look at the plot, it is pretty old. The question is whether the film is made entertaining enough. Actually, it is not bad. The chemistry is quite tense from the tenth minute to the end of the film.

Well, watching this film is probably not a "wrong turn". It is one of those date-films. You know what I mean?
