Hondo (Samuel L. Jackson) was commissioned to form a SWAT team. Suspended SWAT cop Jim Street (Colin Farrell), together with four other members were selected. Though almost disapproved, the team turned out to be an elite team. At this time, drug kingpin Alex Montel (Olivier Martinez) was caught when his car committed a minor violation. His gang tried to free him but he could not escape. So, he offered $100 million to whoever can free him. Hondo's teams were sent to escort Montel's transfer from one prison to another. Gangster from all over town began to plan the rescue…

Although cop films are quite oversupplied, this film kind of stand out. At least, the idea is quite interesting: A prisoner offering $100 million for his rescue. (I think this idea must have been borrowed from Ransom (1996) where Mullen by Mel Gibson offered the amount demanded by kidnappers to whoever can get his son out instead of paying the ransom.) Also, SWAT cops are no ordinary cops.

The chemistry is quite intense after Montel was captured, and it remains that way till the end. It feels a bit cheesy for disgruntled former SWAT members to turn around to fight against other SWAT members, but isn't that life?
