Beck (The Rock) was asked to take Travis (Seann William Scott) from the Amazon jungle by Travis's father, because Travis had angered the wrong people and was in great danger. Meanwhile, Travis was trying to find the golden idol Gato del Diablo by getting help from Marianna (Rosario Dawson) who was not know to be in fact a rebel against Hatcher (Christopher Walken) who enslaved the local tribesmen. Beck soon found himself in danger, too, because Hatcher wanted to get the idol from Travis...

The film is quite entertaining and full of action, and part of the film is quite amusing, too. In general, the pace of the film is quite intense. Many of the scenes look very grand, especially those portraying the vastness and untamedness of the Amazon jungle. The Rock, professional-wrestler-turned-actor, performed his role quite well. As a matter of fact, acting in a film should be much less demanding than performing live inside the ring, so the whole acting thing is just a piece of cake for him. Beck is not much more than a muscle man, but surely The Rock had made the role more likeable than otherwise.
