The film more or less is about two groups of people using fung shui to fight each other. Although I believe in no superstitions at all, I find this film quite interesting. The story line is logical and complete, which is quite a pleasant surprise. The film involves a lot of famous actors and actresses for cameo appearances, which adds much life and entertainment value to it.

"Coincidentally", there are a lot of Mariam Yeung's films being shown on Cable now. I compared her acting in her last 3 or 4 films. Despite how much I like Mariam as an entertainer, I found that she had not much improvement in her acting. It always seems like the set is her playing ground, and this is revealed even though the films are edited! I believe what she has to do in her future films is to keep focused and spend more time in memorizing her lines.

In the film, a theory about how we can tell a person's life based on his look. In my opinion, the theory sounds true but we'd better treat it as "entertainment". Viewers may think about it themselves.

In sum, My Lucky Star is one of the most entertaining films I have seen this year so far. I bet viewers will agree with me, too, although this kind of meaningless comedy would hardly be remembered a few months from now.
