Two years ago, the last Old Master Q film "Master Q 2001" was a disappointment. It was quite entertaining but the characters of the Master Q comic books were only a supporting cast. This year, "Master Q: Incredible Pet Detective" is another disappointment. The Master Q personalities are the main characters but the story is far from entertaining, at least for adults. Anyway, I did hear some children laughing when I saw the film.

Perhaps the characters are used to get the parents to bring their kids (who know very little about "Old Master Q") to watch the film. Perhaps it has nothing to do with the story, but the selling point is that the characters are from the good old days. So the grown-ups can watch the film and dream going back to their childhood, reading the comic book, and not having to worry about the lives (which the parents were the ones to worry about).
