Probably, you would either like "Distance" very much, or you would hate it very much.

Awarded Golden Palm in the Cannes Film Festival in 2001, the story is about the surviving family members of some cult members who committed a mass suicide about 6 years ago. On the 3rd anniversary of the event, these family members of 4 of the cult members went to the scene to show respect to the dead. On their way back, they found their vehicle stolen. As the place was deep in the woods, they could not go back. Just then they met a former cult member who was stilling living in the cult's house near there, and so the whole group walked to the house and stayed there for the night. During that night, they stayed in the house which their late family members once stayed, and they thought about them and talked about them with one another.

The story is about a real-life disaster. The focus, though, is on the victims' surviving family members. The film describes in detail the emotions of these people, how they felt towards their former family members, and how they lived their post-trauma lives. The plot is almost not there, and the pace is very slow. There is not much film editing in the film. Many times a scene lasting 3 or 4 minutes involves only a few shots. Obviously, the actors much have spent a huge amount of time on rehearsals.

The reason why I said you either like or hate it very much is supported by two things. First, the film receives high ratings among critics. Second, a significant number of viewers who screened the film with me left the theater in the middle of the screening. Obviously, it is an art film. The entertainment part is almost non-existent. The value of the film is in the skill of revealing the feelings and emotions of the survived family members. For those who understand what the film is about and have the right expectation about this film, it could be an enjoyable one.
