Xander Cage (Vin Diesel), a.k.a. XXX, was put to test to become an NSA agent by Augustus Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson). After going through two "tests", he was sent to Prague, Czech to find intelligence about "Silent Night", which was supposed to be a weapon which posed much threat to the world. He befriended with the suspect Yorgi (Marton Csokas) by ordering 10 expensive cars from him. In Yorgi's nest, he met Yelena (Asia Argento), who was later found out to be a Russian spy working on the same thing as he. Xander found out the secret of "Silent Night", and was in a position that he was the only person who can save Prague.

You can find a lot of elements that you can find in other "agent" films: "aptitude test" as in "Men in Black", "spy gadgets" as in the "James Bond" series, "impossible stunts" as in Jackie Chan's films, "gum bomb" in "Mission Impossible I", etc. The film is intense from the beginning to the end. However, depending on the level of your expectation, you will find the script pretty stupid. The film features a few scenes where hundreds of bullets could not hit him in close range. Not convincing. The other NSA agent, presumably a parody character of "Q" in James Bond, appeared much more stupid than somebody who could create all those high-tech weapons. And the test in the diner? It was in no way comparable to Agent Jay's test in MIB.

In sum, "XXX" is an entertaining film, and that is it. .
