It is without doubt that most audience buy tickets to see "God is Great, I'm Not" for a repeated performance of the talented French actress Audrey Tautou, the star from "Amelie From Montmarte". This time round, Tautou is up for a bigger challenge.

The film is set in present day France over a period of three years where we get to observe the transition of Michelle (played by Tautou) in her relationship, her understanding in the religious faith, and her understanding of the meaning of life. As a passionate and spiritual young woman, she strikes to find way to channel her energy and feelings into the mould of her identity. She is demanding on her friends and agressive to those who are near (from boyfriend Bertrand to Franscois and her own family) as, ironically, their concern for her alienates her from them.

The role of Michelle is defintely a much more complex than Amelie but Tautou has proved her value. Her handling of the role is convincing. The audience is easily absorbed by her intensive performance.

Any fan of Audrey Tautou definitely should not give this a miss.
