Blade (Wesley Snipes), half human half vampire, after saving his mentor Whistler (Kris Kristofferson) from the vampires, was visited by a vampire Nyssa (Leonor Varela). She was sent by her father vampire leader Damaskinos (Thomas Kretschmann) who wanted Blade to help him eradicate the threat of Reapers who hunt for not only human but also vampires. Blade and the vampires had been enemies. Scud (Norman Reedus), Blade's brain in his base, and he therefore felt suspicious. The vampires gave Blade a few warriors to lead in order to fight the Reapers, but the irony was that those warriors were trained to kill Blade in the first place. It turned out that the relationship between Nomak (Luke Goss), the head of the Reapers, and Damaskinos and the identity of Scud were surprises, and Blade had to get himself out of the castle of the vampires when he was being examined for how he could survive under the sun.

The story is basically okay and the technical side of the special effects and costumes are also up to standard. What makes me feel not right is that how the filmmakers, including Wesley Snipes himself, wanted to make the character Blade look cool in front of the viewers and how unreal and stupid the actions are as a result of the desire to show "coolness" of the characters in the film. One scene features Blade, after fighting his enemy, was standing cool and raised his right arm while Whistler, standing behind him, threw a pair of sunglasses to Blade and Blade caught it without moving further and then wore the glasses, looking cool. But to the viewers' eyes, that is pure stupidity. The fighting scenes also features movements that basically should get the subjects killed instantly, but the character did those just to look cool.
