Joe (Bruce Willis) and Terry (Billy Bob Thornton) escaped from prison. As they had no money, they started to rob banks. Their robberies featured spending the night with the robbed banks' officers the night before and hurt nobody, and they later became national icons. After one robbery, Terry met Kate (Cate Blanchett) and unwillingly brought her to the rendezvous place to meet Joe. After that, a triangular relationship developed. However, that did not ruin the pair, and they even forced a TV newsman to interview them together. In their last robbery which took place in Los Angeles, Joe and Terry were in any argument and they shot at each other. What happened? Was it because of Kate?

The story looks excellent from the very beginning. With the exceptionally good acting of the cast, the film is basically convincing and you might believe that it is based on a true story (but it is not), until towards the end of the film when Harvey (Troy Garity) help the pair in the crime with the stupid sound effects, which is unbelievable. Other than the cheesy ending, the film is very entertaining from the start to the end.

The film brings back my memory for listening to Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" "read" by Joe and Kate in the film. It is hard to imagine that a screenwriter can use the lyrics of a modern classic and turn it into something funny. Other comedy pieces were also very funny, and that is why I would insist that it is a very entertaining film to watch.
