最 初 筆 者 看 到 此 片 的 英 文 名 時 誤 以 為 是 眾 數 ， 以 為 又 是 一 部 講 述 執 法 人 員 受 到 克 苦 訓 練 的 電 影 。 可 是 並 非 如 此 。 而 實 際 上 此 片 的 故 事 是 更 有 吸 引 力 。 故 然 ， Alonzo 並 非 輯 毒 人 員 的 表 表 者 ， 但 片 中 所 描 述 的 Alonzo 亦 可 能 真 有 其 人 ， 而 這 種 惹 上 片 中 所 述 的 大 禍 ， 亦 十 分 有 可 能 。 而 且 ， 這 樣 的 情 節 亦 是 令 此 片 引 人 入 勝 的 地 方 。

Jake Hoyt (Ethan Hawke), a dedicated police officer, got a chance to learn from Alonzo Harris (Denzel Washington), an experienced anti-narcotic officer, for one day - the training day. At first, Jake was amazed by how Alonzo handle the drug traffickers. However, later in the day, he found that Alonzo was less righteous that he expected. Alonzo killed a Russian mobster a week before, and the Russian mob demanded $1 million from Alonzo. Alonzo wanted to use Jake as part of his team to get $1 million to save his own life.

While I mistook the name as "Training Days" (plural) and thought the film was about an officer trained hard by a mentor (somewhat like Washington's previous film "Remember the Titans", I was very pleased was the story as the plot is much more interesting that I originally thought. The film is intense almost right from the start. While I believe Alonzo is not a good representation of the general behavior of the anti-narcotics officials, the film portrays the life of such a possible person very well. The possibility of this kind of person getting into Alonzo's trouble and the fear and hesitation of Jake was very real, and after all, very entertaining.

The part that I do not like much is that Alonzo let Jake live at the end of the film, since Alonzo wanted to kill him before that. And, because of his decision, the whole ending has changed. May be a flaw, may be the mental weakness of Alonzo. This is a bit odd.

On the whole, it is an intense and entertaining film. You cannot go wrong (not too much, at least) if you choose to watch this film.
