奇 幻 世 紀 是 日 本 長 壽 單 元 電 視 劇 " 世 界 奇 幻 物 語 " 的 電 影 版 ， 其 中 包 括 四 個 情 節 十 分 可 觀 的 故 事 。 故 事 講 述 ： 一 天 晚 上 ， 車 站 內 下 著 傾 盆 大 雨 。 有 幾 個 人 沒 有 傘 ， 於 是 只 可 在 站 內 呆 等 。 在 無 聊 之 際 ， 一 名 青 年 開 始 講 個 恐 怖 故 事 。 可 是 ， 他 記 起 的 有 限 ， 連 一 些 重 要 情 節 也 忘 記 了 。 突 然 ， 一 個 身 穿 黑 色 西 裝 的 " 講 故 佬 " Tamori 出 現 ， 把 整 個 故 事 說 了 出 來 。 說 畢 以 後 ， 其 他 在 車 站 裡 等 候 的 都 走 過 來 ， 要 Tamori 繼 續 說 下 去 。 結 果 他 總 共 講 了 四 個 精 彩 故 事 。 其 後 雨 停 了 ， 各 人 便 各 自 回 家 。 究 竟 那 四 個 故 事 是 什 麼 ？ 筆 者 讓 讀 者 們 自 己 找 答 案 。

與 電 視 版 不 同 的 是 ， 因 為 資 金 比 電 視 劇 充 裕 ， 奇 幻 世 紀 的 效 果 不 錯 。 四 個 故 事 的 先 後 次 序 安 排 相 信 亦 花 過 不 少 心 思 。 第 一 個 故 事 是 恐 怖 片 ， 跟 著 是 喜 劇 。 這 樣 的 安 排 沒 有 什 麼 特 別 ， 最 巧 妙 的 是 製 片 將 懸 疑 及 浪 漫 兩 個 故 事 放 在 最 後 。 因 為 這 兩 個 故 事 都 很 能 帶 動 觀 眾 的 情 緒 （ 坐 在 筆 者 身 旁 的 陌 生 女 子 當 時 就 哭 不 成 聲 ） ， 令 到 觀 眾 在 走 出 戲 院 時 有 回 味 無 窮 的 感 覺 （ 不 知 為 何 宣 傳 資 料 所 說 的 次 序 與 電 影 本 身 十 分 不 同 ） 。

演 員 方 面 ， 除 了 講 故 佬 Tamori 及 爆 笑 編 的 中 井 貴 一 外 ， 主 角 全 部 是 靚 仔 靚 女 ， 而 且 表 現 都 相 當 不 錯 （ 包 括 那 些 非 靚 仔 靚 女 的 ） 。

可 能 是 短 編 故 事 比 較 容 易 處 理 的 原 故 ， 整 齣 戲 實 在 瑕 疵 不 多 。 不 論 如 何 ， 觀 眾 最 希 望 看 到 的 是 製 作 好 兼 有 娛 樂 性 的 電 影 。 這 套 戲 應 可 滿 足 絕 大 部 份 影 迷 的 要 求 。

Tales of the Unusual is the cinema version of a long-lived Japanese TV series in Japan. It consists of 4 "unusual" half-hour stories. The story: One night, it was raining hard outside a railway station. A few people did not have umbrellas and had to stay in the station. Without anything to do, a young guy started to tell a horror story. However, he could not remember the whole story, not even some important parts of it. Suddenly, Tamori, the storyteller in dark suit, appeared and told the whole story to the people there. After Tamori telling that story, the people wanted more, and Tamori told another three stories. The rain then stopped, and the people left the station. What are the 4 stories about? I would let the readers find out themselves.

Unlike its TV counterpart, the budget for this film is much more and so the film was even better than the TV series. The order of the 4 stories is carefully determined. The first story is a horror and the second one is a comedy. Not special. The third and fourth are a suspense and a romance respectively. These two are particularly well made and are able to bring out the emotions of the viewers (the lady sitting next to me was crying like a baby while watching these 2 stories). This gives the viewers a sweet memory while stepping out of the theater. (Somehow, the order is different from the trailers' and other official materials.)

The main characters are played by good-looking actors and actresses (except Tamori and the Shogun in the comedy story). The actors/actresses play pretty well in their roles (including the non-good-looking ones).

Perhaps it is because the stories are short and thus easy to handle and film, it is relatively speckless. Well, viewers do not care if it is easy to make or not. What really matters to them is whether a film is well made and entertaining. I believe this film would satisfy most viewers.
