即 使 已 退 休 的 警 官 傑 克 （ Michael Rooker 飾 ） ， 為 了 要 逮 捕 變 態 殺 人 魔 葛 洛 特 （ Jean-Claude Van Damme 飾 ） ， 不 惜 用 葛 洛 特 在 兇 案 現 場 遺 留 下 來 的 DNA 檢 體 ， 複 製 了 另 一 個 葛 洛 特 ， 試 圖 以 複 製 人 與 葛 洛 特 的 相 同 思 考 邏 輯 ， 去 猜 測 葛 洛 特 下 一 步 的 犯 罪 行 俓 。 但 這 個 行 動 有 其 巨 大 潛 在 危 機 ： 複 製 人 同 樣 具 備 與 葛 洛 特 相 同 邪 惡 DNA 基 因 ， 其 邪 念 可 能 一 觸 即 發 ， 危 害 西 雅 圖 市 居 民 的 性 命 ……

這 套 是 林 嶺 東 最 新 作 品 。 毫 無 疑 問 ， 其 擅 於 處 理 動 作 驚 慄 技 巧 已 完 全 應 用 於 此 套 荷 里 活 作 品 之 上 。 而 林 嶺 東 的 特 色 ： 如 動 感 、 爆 破 、 追 逐 等 場 面 亦 沒 有 令 觀 眾 失 望 。 Michael Rooker 的 表 現 可 說 稱 職 。 已 合 作 到 天 衣 無 縫 。 林 嶺 東 的 御 用 演 員 Jean-Claude Van Damme 這 次 在 演 技 上 要 接 受 的 挑 戰 為 分 別 要 飾 演 兩 個 性 格 各 走 極 端 的 角 色 ： 殺 人 狂 魔 與 純 真 複 製 人 。 可 惜 基 於 此 片 的 故 事 簡 單 及 則 重 標 榜 動 作 場 面 ， 並 未 讓 其 有 充 足 機 會 發 揮 。

至 於 此 片 的 音 響 效 果 與 剪 接 技 巧 異 常 出 色 ， 尤 其 是 剪 接 。 片 中 雖 有 多 場 兩 個 Jean-Claude Van Damme 互 打 場 面 ， 但 觀 眾 絕 對 看 不 出 其 中 一 個 是 替 身 來 的 。 可 見 幕 後 人 員 在 這 方 面 確 實 花 了 不 少 心 思 。 此 片 娛 樂 性 豐 富 ， 亦 可 看 出 林 嶺 東 有 能 力 將 一 個 平 平 無 奇 的 故 事 化 腐 朽 為 神 奇 ， 拍 成 一 套 成 功 的 電 影 。

A serial killer, with victims of almost identical profile: bad mothers, was at large in the city of Seattle. Jake (Michael Rooker), who had been following the case for 3 years, had not been successful in pinning down the suspect played by Jean-Claude Van Damme. There was nothing to stop Jake from continuing the case even though he is now retired. With the help of a secretive agency, Jake was equipped with a special informant who was called to help solving the case. This informant was a replicant of the killer himself, also played by Van Damme. Jake was to extract from the replicant information of the whereabouts was the killer since they should have the same memory. There was a hidden danger: the replicant is a fully-grown adult with a child's mind, but it would not be long before the inherent killer instinct started to show. If Jake was not careful, he might have to deal with two killers rather than one.

This is the latest directing effort by the renowned Hong Kong director Ringo Lam. There is no doubt he has perfected his technique of action thriller and has been applying it in Hollywood. The motion, the explosives, the chases are all Lam's recognizable signatures and he does not disappoint us. Van Damme has been one of his all time favorites and they worked seamlessly together. Van Damme takes his special challenge here having to play 2 characters of different personalities: the ruthless killer and the innocent replicant. Unfortunately the simplistic plot and saturated action scenes did not allow Vam Damme to fully utilize his opportunities. Michael Rooker who played Jake is more appropriate than many.

The behind the scene work was apparent with special mention of the sound effects and the editing. There were numerous occasions where two Van Dammes had to put up with a fight. The editing was so perfect that there was no trace of anyone of them being a double. In terms of the script, the audience must understand that this is not meant to be a masterpiece but an entertaining film. The action-packed scenes would convince the audience that Ringo Lam did not need a great script to make a successful film.
