此 片 為 2000 年 康 城 影 展 競 賽 片 。 導 演 帕 維 龍 根 並 沒 有 打 算 拍 一 齣 情 節 複 雜 的 電 影 ， 清 脆 利 落 的 反 而 更 能 吸 引 觀 眾 的 注 意 力 。 此 外 ， 導 演 亦 於 此 片 著 重 刻 劃 人 與 人 之 間 的 關 係 。 雖 這 是 老 掉 牙 的 題 材 ， 但 仍 會 是 電 影 最 好 探 討 的 東 西 。 片 中 觀 眾 可 看 到 人 同 人 相 處 時 ， 最 初 因 要 保 護 自 己 而 避 免 被 人 利 用 或 傷 害 ， 但 在 酒 杯 底 下 ， 醉 意 打 破 了 隔 膜 ， 眾 人 都 願 意 分 享 自 己 的 感 受 與 擁 有 的 東 西 。

雖 然 此 片 是 以 米 卡 與 坦 妮 雅 的 新 婚 夜 掛 帥 ， 但 觀 眾 都 注 意 到 肥 警 察 在 片 中 有 超 水 準 表 現 。 在 小 鎮 當 警 察 的 他 ， 一 心 想 要 到 大 城 市 莫 斯 科 工 作 ， 不 惜 巴 結 勢 力 人 士 ， 但 當 面 對 生 死 時 刻 的 時 侯 ， 他 才 醒 覺 他 仍 是 喜 歡 這 小 鎮 的 人 和 事 。 他 的 演 技 絕 對 值 得 獲 取 獎 項 。

"La Noce", a film about the happenings around an ordinary wedding in an ordinary town, turned out to be anything but ordinary. The story line is uncomplicated: Tania returned from her mysterious past in Moscow to a small village where she grew up. Here she met up with her childhood sweetheart Mishka and they decided to get married despite Mishka's family's secret opposition. Being a local miner, Mishka did not earn much and had hardly anything left to buy a wedding present after submitting the salary to his father to arrange the banquet. Soon, Mishka became involved in an armed robbery that started a roller coaster ride of events at and outside of the wedding. Things just became messier as the identity of the robbery victim was found out, Tania's muscovite lover tried to snatch her away from the wedding, the local sheriff lost his gun, and Mishka found something valuable at the orphanage. All these events finally converged at the end.

This film was a contestant in the 2000 Cannes Film Festival short film category. The director, Joelle Bouvier, clearly had no intention to shoot a complicated film. A simple plot with clean editing was enough to attract the audience. The director also showed that human relationships, being an age old theme, was still the best theme to explore. We see people interacting among others, first exercises their necessary protection to avoid being taken advantage of, then after a few drinks everyone became relaxed and was willing to contribute more to each other's lives.

Even though the focus was on the newly wed, our attention had been caught by the marvelous performance of Alexandre Semtchev the sheriff. He was a small town chief of police wanting to work in a big city, would do anything including ruining someone's marriage in order to please big brasses who had the power and influence to help him achieving this goal. Upon facing death, the sheriff came to realize that these people around him are the ones he cared about and so he decided to stay. His performance is worth of any prize.
