《 驚 魂 眼 》 被 片 商 定 為 恐 怖 片 ， 而 有 網 站 說 《 驚 魂 眼 》 比 二 千 年 的 《 咫 尺 閃 靈 》 恐 怖 。 筆 者 不 大 同 意 。 筆 者 覺 得 《 驚 魂 眼 》 不 大 恐 怖 ， 但 故 事 則 比 較 有 睇 頭 。 筆 者 與 朋 友 看 《 驚 魂 眼 》 的 時 候 ， 兩 人 都 猜 不 到 誰 是 真 兇 ， 結 局 亦 破 出 人 意 表 。 可 是 ， 故 事 情 節 並 非 絕 無 瑕 疵 。 第 一 ，主 角 Annie ( Cate Blanchett 飾 ) 怎 樣 發 現 死 者 Jessica ( Katie Holmes 飾 ) 的 屍 體 對 誰 是 真 兇 的 事 實 有 甚 麼 關 係 呢 ？ 為 什 麼 編 劇 要 花 這 麼 多 分 鐘 來 講 述 辯 方 律 師 盤 問 Annie 怎 樣 知 道 屍 體 所 在 的 地 方 ？ 辯 方 律 師 （ 還 是 編 劇 ） 是 否 真 的 有 足 夠 法 律 知 識 ？ 第 二 ， 兇 手 找 Annie ， 設 法 要 她 感 覺 誰 是 真 兇 ， 這 算 不 算 是 找 死 呢 ？

演 員 方 面 ， 不 論 片 商 怎 麼 說 ， Cate Blanchett 是 唯 一 的 主 角 ， 而 她 的 表 現 十 分 不 錯 。 片 商 將 Keanu Reeves 及 Hilary Swank 的 名 字 放 在 Cate Blanchett 的 前 面 ， 可 能 是 因 為 Reeves 及 Swank 比 較 為 香 港 人 所 熟 識 ， 片 商 覺 得 演 出 過 《 伊 利 沙 伯 女 皇 》 及 《 心 計 》 的 Blanchett 的 號 召 力 比 不 上 他 們 。 但 是 ， Reeves 及 Swank 都 只 是 配 角 ， 而 他 們 的 戲 份 比 起 被 排 第 四 的 Greg Kinnear 也 少 得 很 多 。

總 括 來 說 ， 《 驚 魂 眼 》 是 做 得 不 錯 的 ， 但 戲 迷 們 不 要 對 此 片 的 〝 恐 怖 〞 有 太 大 的 期 望 。

Some web site compared this film to What Lies Beneath and said this film is more horrifying than What Lies Beneath. I don't agree at all because I actually don't feel that The Gift is horrifying. Let's forget about the comparison. The Gift's story, mostly, is reasonable. Actually, both I and my friend at the theater could not guess the real killer. It was quite a surprise. For the unreasonable parts of the story, two things were not quite convincing. First, why was how Annie knew where Jessica's (Katie Holmes) body was called for so much discussion in the court? ESP or not, did it matter to the fact that the defendent killed the victim or not? Second, why did the killer wanted to remind Annie when he found that she could not see he killed Jessica? He wanted to be prosecuted? Or, the director wanted to fool the audience? I don't understand.

About the cast, no matter what the distributor told you, Cate Blanchett is the only actor/actress in a leading role. The distributor put Keanu Reeves and Hilary Swank in front of Cate, perhaps just because they are more famous in the eyes of Hong Kong people. However, both of them were only in supporting roles. It seems like the distributor did not believe in the appeal of Cate Blanchett who had starred in Elizabeth and Talented Mr. Ripley. In any case, Cate had done a very good job in the film. Greg Kinnear, whose part is much more important than Keanu Reeves' but put as No. 4 in the list, also played his role pretty well.

All in all, The Gift is not a bad film to watch. But boys, forget about hoping that the girls sitting next to you will grab you when frightened while watching the film. With the degree of horror of the film you are not going to get that. So, just focus on the story...
