故 事 的 情 節 頗 為 簡 單 及 戲 情 發 展 十 分 易 猜 到 。 可 是 ， 此 片 的 賣 點 是 會 說 話 的 動 物 （ 應 該 是 與 會 聽 動 物 說 話 的 人 說 話 的 動 物 ） 及 片 中 的 小 小 小 笑 料 。 片 中 的 動 物 十 分 有 神 髓 ， 行 動 流 暢 ， 做 得 十 分 好 ， 小 孩 子 一 定 喜 歡 。 筆 者 看 的 是 英 語 版 本 ， 覺 得 有 很 多 對 白 應 該 只 會 是 懂 英 語 俗 語 的 人 才 懂 得 笑 ， 看 字 幕 是 沒 有 用 的 。 所 以 ， 若 你 對 自 己 的 英 語 沒 有 太 大 的 信 心 ， 粵 語 版 本 應 該 是 較 好 的 選 擇 。 如 果 你 帶 小 朋 友 看 此 片 的 話 ， 更 加 切 記 要 看 粵 語 版 ， 否 則 後 果 自 負 。

Dr D (Eddie Murphy) was asked by the animals to stop a timber company from cutting trees in their forest. He knew that in the forest there was a female West Pacific bear which was an endangered species. The protection of an endangered species could be a reason to send the timber company away. However, a single bear could not do it because the species was to go away if the bear could not produce an offspring. So, Dr D found Archie, a male West Pacific bear from a circus, and tried to make the 2 bears mate and produce their next generation, and the forest could then be saved. Certainly, the timber company did not want to give up the forest easily.

The story is quite simple and predictable. This does not hurt the film too much, though, because the selling point of the film is the talking animals (or more correctly, animals who talk to a man who can talk to animals) and the huge number of little comedy pieces. The animals are very lively in the film, and their actions are all smooth. Very well made. Kids surely would love it. I watched the English version of the film and I found that the conversation in the film is funny only if you know a lot of English. Reading the Chinese subtitles alone is not as funny. So, if you are not too confident about your English, the Cantonese version should suit you more. If you are bringing kids to the film, the Cantonese version is certainly the preferred choice.
