大 佬 是 北 野 武 繼 大 逃 殺 後 又 一 具 爭 論 性 電 影 。 故 事 講 述 ： 山 本 " 大 佬 " （ 北 野 武 飾 ） 在 日 本 幫 會 的 明 爭 暗 鬥 中 處 於 下 風 ， 於 是 隻 身 走 到 美 國 洛 杉 磯 找 其 " 細 佬 " 阿 健 （ 真 木 藏 人 飾 ） ， 並 結 識 了 阿 健 在 該 地 的 同 黨 ， 包 括 Danny （ Omer Epps 飾 ） 在 內 。 阿 健 等 人 因 與 墨 西 哥 人 幫 會 的 白 粉 來 價 有 爭 執 ， 山 本 毫 不 考 慮 便 與 墨 人 幫 會 開 戰 。 從 此 山 本 在 洛 杉 磯 樹 立 勢 力 ， 並 與 白 瀨 （ 加 藤 雅 也 飾 ） 合 作 ， 在 洛 城 幫 會 屆 成 為 風 雲 人 物 。 後 來 山 本 幫 會 與 黑 手 黨 因 生 意 上 的 磨 擦 而 開 戰 ， 雙 方 死 傷 無 數 。 山 本 等 人 命 運 如 何 ？

老 實 說 ， 片 中 的 故 事 與 香 港 的 江 湖 片 橋 段 相 同 多 於 相 異 ， 只 是 在 不 同 地 方 發 生 ， 而 故 事 中 人 物 亦 有 不 同 的 種 族 。 與 香 港 江 湖 片 不 同 的 是 ， 片 中 並 不 將 黑 幫 人 物 英 雄 化 ， 而 且 比 香 港 的 血 腥 很 多 倍 。

北 野 武 的 大 逃 殺 內 容 有 很 多 可 以 深 思 熟 慮 之 處 ， 所 以 筆 者 在 看 此 片 前 抱 著 頗 高 的 期 望 ， 期 待 細 嚼 片 中 要 表 達 的 東 西 。 在 這 方 面 ， 筆 者 有 點 失 望 ， 因 為 筆 者 所 看 到 的 只 是 爭 勢 力 、 復 仇 、 " 兄 弟 " 情 等 一 般 江 湖 片 的 東 西 。 若 不 是 北 野 武 的 大 膽 血 腥 ， 這 部 戲 不 會 受 太 多 人 注 意 。

配 角 的 真 本 及 加 藤 都 是 美 男 子 一 類 ， 是 此 片 的 賣 點 之 一 。 但 當 然 ， 北 野 才 是 最 受 注 目 的 。 片 中 有 頗 多 的 笑 料 在 山 本 身 上 發 生 ， 而 由 木 口 木 面 的 北 野 那 少 少 面 部 表 情 帶 出 來 ， 實 在 非 常 有 趣 。 另 外 飾 演 Danny 的 Omer Epps 亦 有 很 好 的 表 現 ， 值 得 留 意 。

這 部 片 所 用 的 語 言 是 日 文 和 英 文 ， 所 以 觀 眾 一 定 會 留 意 到 字 幕 非 常 搞 笑 、 十 分 口 語 化 。 筆 者 覺 得 部 份 字 幕 應 該 與 原 本 的 對 白 有 很 大 的 出 入 ， 但 又 寫 得 十 分 有 趣 ， 觀 眾 可 以 看 看 這 是 否 可 以 接 受 。

Brother is another controversial film by Takeshi Kitano after Battle Royale which was talk of the town at the beginning of the year. The story: Yamamoto (Takeshi Kitano) was about to be killed in the quest for power in his mob in Japan. To avoid being killed, he went to Los Angeles, California to meet his "little brother" Ken (Kuroudo Maki) and knew some members of Ken's gang, too, including Danny (Omer Epps). Ken's gang was in a dispute with the Mexican mob for the wholesale price of cocaine. Without hesitation, Yamamoto started a war with the Mexicans. Since then, Yamamoto began to build up his power, especially after acquiring the gang of Shirase (Masaya Kato). One year later, Yamamoto's gang had some dispute with profit sharing with Mafia, and war was started. What was the fate of Yamamoto and his fellow gangsters?

To be honest, the story is not very different than those of Hong Kong triad society films. The differences are that the story happened in a different place, people of different races were involved, the mobsters were not portrayed as hero (which is good), and the scenes are more "bloody".

There are a lot of things to think about after watching Battle Royale. So, I had high expectation on this film. I hoped that it would be meaningful. However, I was disappointed. All the film talked about was struggle for power, taking revenge, and brotherhood, those kind of think that are too average for films in this genre.
