也 許 是 好 ， 也 許 是 壞 ， 特 務 迷 城 又 是 一 部 成 龍 公 式 的 成 龍 電 影 ： 有 武 術 專 家 、 有 異 國 風 情 、 有 飛 車 追 逐 、 有 亞 洲 美 女 、 有 耗 資 龐 大 、 有 成 龍 浴 血 ……

袁 小 北 ( 成 龍 飾 ) 是 一 個 體 育 用 品 推 銷 員 。 一 天 ， 一 個 私 家 偵 探 廖 有 ( 曾 志 偉 飾 ) 說 服 了 他 到 韓 國 見 朴 元 －－ 一 個 可 能 是 袁 小 北 生 父 的 有 錢 人 。 朴 元 正 垂 危 ， 但 仍 要 跟 小 北 玩 一 個 可 能 令 小 北 一 朝 發 達 的 捉 迷 藏 遊 戲 。 得 到 些 少 的 提 示 ， 小 北 便 去 到 土 耳 其 的 伊 斯 坦 堡 銀 行 取 得 朴 元 的 部 份 遺 產 。 但 好 景 不 常 ， 有 人 要 從 他 身 上 取 得 他 沒 有 的 炭 疽 菌 ……

論 及 製 作 ， 特 務 迷 城 固 然 是 一 部 相 當 有 水 準 的 電 影 。 片 商 說 此 片 耗 資 二 億 港 圓 拍 攝 ， 但 是 否 必 須 耗 資 這 麼 龐 大 則 見 仁 見 智 。 筆 者 相 信 用 少 一 點 的 金 錢 仍 不 會 減 少 這 齣 戲 的 號 召 力 。

雖 然 筆 者 給 這 套 戲 很 高 的 分 數 ， 但 它 實 在 沒 有 給 筆 者 太 多 的 官 能 刺 激 ， 皆 因 它 比 起 過 往 的 成 龍 電 影 沒 有 太 多 的 新 意 。 在 筆 者 的 記 憶 中 ， 86 年 的 龍 兄 虎 弟 為 成 龍 的 第 一 部 同 纇 電 影 。 15 年 後 的 今 日 ， 成 龍 的 電 影 仍 然 沒 有 太 大 的 分 別 。 正 如 筆 者 所 說 ， 特 務 迷 城 是 用 了 用 過 多 次 的 成 龍 公 式 製 造 而 成 。 有 幾 點 固 然 是 改 進 了 ： 例 如 現 場 收 音 、 多 語 對 白 、 更 嚴 謹 的 故 事 情 節 等 等 。 但 是 ， 香 港 影 迷 是 否 已 經 覺 得 這 個 公 式 有 點 膩 ？ 成 龍 亦 曾 嘗 試 演 不 同 的 戲 種 ， 所 以 便 有 玻 璃 樽 的 出 現 。 但 玻 璃 樽 有 點 兩 頭 不 到 岸 ， 反 應 一 般 。 可 能 是 為 了 討 好 歐 美 的 觀 眾 ， 所 以 成 龍 不 想 改 變 太 多 。 歐 美 市 場 遠 比 香 港 的 大 ， 固 此 這 麼 的 做 法 是 可 以 理 解 的 。 不 然 此 片 便 不 會 有 的 士 司 機 們 打 劫 袁 小 北 的 不 必 要 情 節 。

雖 然 徐 若 瑄( o永 ) 被 片 商 列 為 女 主 角 ， 但 她 的 戲 份 連 金 明 雙 ( 王 嘉 文 ) 的 也 比 不 上 。 實 際 上 ， 全 片 只 有 成 龍 是 主 角 。 那 些 女 主 角 女 配 角 並 未 有 足 夠 的 機 會 發 揮 。

總 的 來 說 ， 特 務 迷 城 是 一 部 製 造 水 準 甚 高 的 電 影 ， 但 同 時 又 未 必 可 以 滿 足 看 慣 了 成 龍 電 影 的 觀 眾 。 對 於 歐 美 觀 眾 ， 特 務 迷 城 應 該 是 一 部 不 可 錯 過 的 電 影 。

A film with Jackie Chan's usual formula: a kung fu guy, a foreign land, car chase scenes, pretty Asian girls, burning a lot of money, and a bleeding Jackie.

Buck Yuen (Jackie Chan), a salesman of sports equipment, was convinced by a private eye Liu (Eric Tsang) to travel to Korea to meet Park, who could have been his wealthy long lost father. Park, dying in his bed, wanted to play a hide-and-seek game with Buck. With a little bit of hints, Buck headed to Turkey to claim some of Park's estate in Istanbul Bank's security box. Things did not go easy for Buck afterwards when he was asked to surrender the Anthrax II virus...

If you talk about the production of the film, no doubt that it is good. Is it worth to spend HK$200 million to make this film as Golden Harvest claimed? I guess the money spent did produce something that might need that sum of money, but spending less probably will not decrease the attractiveness of the film.

To be fair, I give the film a high rating because it was really well made. However, the film did not bring me too much excitement as there are not many new elements in this film of Jackie's. Jackie's first film with a similar setting, as far as I can remember, was Armour of God back in 1986. 15 years later, his films have not changed much, as I have pointed out at the beginning that The Accidental Spy uses the same old Jackie formula. A few things are done better, such as live recording, more convincing dialog with local language, a more complex and reasonable storyline, etc. However, for Hong Kong movie goers, the formula is too old and some are already tired of it. Hong Kong people expect something new from Jackie. Jackie had tried something different, as in Gorgeous. That did not do quite well, though, as Gorgeous was not neither Jackie style nor something really new. It seems to me that Jackie sticks to his formula because it suits the taste of the American and European market which would bring in much more revenue than the local market. Therefore, some unnecessary scenes like Buck being robbed by taxi drivers are present.

Vivian Xu (Yong) and Kim Min Jeong (Carman) are both Asian actresses with unusual beauty. Although Vivian is labeled as the actress in the leading role, her part appears much less than Jeong's in the film. Anyway, basically, Jackie is the only artist in a leading role in the film. The actresses did not have enough opportunities to prove themselves that they are good actresses.

In sum, The Accidental Spy is a very well-made film which may not excite you too much if you are a Hongkonger. If you are a foreigner, it is not a film to miss.
