薰 衣 草 ， 其 香 味 可 令 人 減 少 抑 鬱 。 這 套 電 影 ， 或 許 也 可 以 為 你 帶 來 一 些 歡 樂 ， 減 除 你 些 少 的 抑 鬱 。

故 事 講 述 ： Athena Chen ( 陳 慧 琳 飾 ) 是 一 個 開 香 薰 店 的 老 闆 娘 ， 她 的 男 朋 友 Andrew 剛 剛 死 了 ， 於 是 終 日 鬱 鬱 寡 歡 。 一 天 晚 上 ， 一 個 天 使 Angel ( 金 城 武 飾 ) 剛 巧 從 天 上 掉 下 來 ， 他 因 傷 暫 時 不 能 再 飛 ， 唯 有 住 在 Athena 的 家 裡 ， 等 待 聖 門 開 啟 才 飛 返 天 堂 。 Angel 漸 漸 在 人 間 學 識 了 什 麼 是 愛 ， 亦 發 覺 自 己 愛 上 了 Athena ， Athena 亦 覺 得 自 己 對 Angel 有 好 感 。 聖 門 開 啟 的 時 候 快 到 ， Athena 帶 Angel 到 法 國 一 個 偏 遠 的 地 方 拿 一 束 薰 衣 草 ， 希 望 Angel 能 夠 幫 她 把 它 帶 到 天 堂 去 給 Andrew 。 終 於 在 火 車 上 ， 他 們 互 相 表 白 了 對 對 方 的 感 覺 。 Angel 始 終 要 飛 返 天 堂 ， 而 Athena 最 終 叫 Angel 不 用 帶 任 何 東 西 給 Andrew ， Angel 亦 從 此 在 人 間 消 失 。 戲 中 提 到 ， 人 們 所 渴 望 的 很 多 時 已 在 身 邊 ， 只 是 不 被 察 覺 而 已 。 戲 中 亦 提 到 ， 愛 就 是 在 有 眾 多 選 擇 的 情 況 下 ， 不 惜 一 切 鍾 情 於 自 己 的 抉 擇 。 你 同 意 嗎 ？

這 套 給 觀 眾 的 感 覺 是 舒 服 的 ， 間 中 也 有 些 笑 料 ， 但 是 故 事 並 未 為 觀 眾 帶 來 太 多 的 驚 喜 。 其 中 的 一 些 情 節 有 點 不 合 理 。 例 如 ， Athena 經 過 那 麼 多 的 艱 辛 才 拿 到 一 束 薰 衣 草 ， 希 望 給 Andrew ， 為 何 與 Angel 短 暫 的 纏 綿 後 便 改 變 了 主 意 ？ 另 外 ， Athena 在 街 上 尋 找 到 Angel 的 時 候 為 什 麼 大 雨 只 落 在 Athena 身 上 ？ 陳 奕 迅 的 角 色 Chow Chow 可 說 是 大 殺 風 景 ， 筆 者 不 明 白 為 何 編 劇 往 往 要 用 同 性 戀 者 作 為 嘲 諷 的 對 象 。 金 城 武 與 陳 慧 琳 在 火 車 中 的 一 場 纏 綿 戲 未 免 太 長 ， 亦 對 陳 慧 琳 的 形 象 沒 有 多 大 的 好 處 。

金 城 武 的 演 出 尚 算 不 錯 ， 陳 慧 琳 的 演 出 算 是 中 規 中 矩 。 其 實 像 薰 衣 草 的 這 一 類 戲 ， 演 員 的 演 技 並 不 是 這 套 戲 的 賣 點 。 最 重 要 的 賣 點 是 偶 像 主 角 。 至 於 陳 奕 迅 方 面 ， 筆 者 相 信 他 不 應 該 演 Chow Chow 的 角 色 。 Chow Chow 完 全 只 是 一 個 笑 話 ， 陳 奕 迅 根 本 沒 有 發 揮 的 機 會 。 如 果 他 只 為 了 一 元 幾 角 的 片 酬 而 演 出 ， 實 在 不 值 得 。

值 得 一 提 的 是 ， 在 嘉 禾 的 戲 院 上 演 的 是 香 薰 版 ， 在 戲 中 Athena 調 教 香 薰 的 時 候 ， 戲 院 內 會 發 出 香 味 。 這 亦 是 此 片 的 賣 點 之 一 ， 頗 有 特 色 。 即 是 說 ， 看 VCD 一 定 不 及 在 戲 院 中 看 。 要 注 意 的 是 不 是 每 一 間 戲 院 都 上 映 香 薰 版 ， 有 興 趣 看 香 薰 版 的 觀 眾 要 留 意 。

Lavender, a plant in which its smell can alleviate depression. As a film, perhaps it can do something like that to you, too.

Athena Chen (Kelly Chen) is the owner of a scent shop. Her boyfriend, Andrew, just died because of a heatstroke during a physical training. She was depressed. One night, an angel named Angel (Kaneshiro Takeshi) fell from the sky and landed on Athena's roof. He was injured and could not fly. So, he has to stay in her home to wait for the opening of the Holy Door. Angel gradually learned what love was in the human form, and he also found out that he was having a crush on Athena. Athena also had feelings on Angel. When the Holy Door was about to open, Athena took Angel to the countryside of France to fetch the best lavender and asked Angel to take the lavender to Andrew in heaven. Finally, in a train, they knew each other's feelings. But, Angel had to go. Athena was determined not to have the lavender taken to heaven, and Angel disappeared from then. In the film, it is conveyed a number of times that what we love could be just around us, only that we do not know. Another thing is that love is what we insist to choose among all the available choices. Do you agree?

This film gives the audience a pleasant feeling. Some comedy bits are there, but the story does not give the audience any surprise. Some parts are a bit odd. For example, why did Athena decide not to take the bunch of lavender to Andrew after all the things that she had gone through? Can a short make out with Angel change all her feelings towards Andrew? In another scene, rain only poured heavily on Athena after she found Angel in the street. I don't know why. Eason's role as Chow Chow kills the film. I do not understand why the scriptwriters in Hong Kong insist to pick on homosexuals. The make out of Kaneshiro and Kelly in the train is too long, and I believe it is not going to do any good to the image of Kelly.

Kaneshiro's performance is not bad. Kelly's can only be regarded as okay. In any case, films like Lavender sell the idols more than anything else. The acting of the idols are not that important. About Eason, I think he should not have taken the role. If he took the role just because of money, I believe it was not worth it.

One important thing to note: In selected theaters, you can smell the aroma of the scents when Athena was playing with the scents. This is also a selling point of the film. That means, it would be very different if you watch home video later. And remember, in selected theaters only.
