最 初 跟 朋 友 和 講 述 《 大 逃 殺 》 這 部 電 影 的 時 候 ， 他 們 都 覺 得 這 是 一 部 有 關 南 京 大 屠 殺 的 電 影 。 其 實 ， 這 部 電 影 與 大 屠 殺 完 全 無 關 。 實 際 上 ， 這 是 一 部 關 於 互 相 殘 殺 的 電 影 。

新 世 紀 初 ， 日 本 社 會 動 盪 ， 學 生 不 時 挑 戰 老 師 。 於 是 ， 政 府 通 過 " 新 世 紀 教 育 改 革 " ， 每 年 在 全 國 中 抽 取 一 班 中 學 學 生 參 加 B.R. 大 屠 殺 死 亡 遊 戲 ， 要 參 加 者 互 相 殘 殺 ， 直 至 剩 下 一 個 生 還 者 為 止 。 這 一 年 ， 城 岩 學 園 的 一 班 42 名 中 三 學 生 被 抽 中 ， 學 校 以 畢 業 旅 行 為 名 ， 強 迫 學 生 參 加 。 到 底 那 一 班 學 生 怎 麼 應 付 這 場 死 亡 遊 戲 呢 ？

如 果 你 是 這 一 班 其 中 一 個 學 生 ， 你 又 會 怎 樣 應 付 呢 ？

故 事 的 背 景 有 點 荒 謬 。 那 B.R. 法 例 根 本 不 可 以 達 到 目 的 。 筆 者 嘗 試 為 這 個 故 事 編 寫 另 外 一 個 開 頭 ， 但 總 是 想 不 到 一 個 可 以 合 理 地 連 接 那 一 場 死 亡 遊 戲 的 。 無 論 如 何 ， 這 套 戲 的 重 點 是 在 死 亡 遊 戲 。 在 這 個 死 亡 遊 戲 裡 ， 每 個 學 生 的 面 對 方 法 各 有 不 同 ： 有 人 自 殺 逃 避 現 實 ； 有 人 為 了 生 存 而 主 動 殺 人 ； 有 人 自 衛 殺 人 ； 有 人 期 待 奇 蹟 的 出 現 ， 只 想 好 好 的 過 著 生 命 的 最 後 三 天 ； 有 人 想 盡 辦 法 希 望 改 變 遊 戲 規 則 。 亦 有 人 自 願 參 加 ， 只 為 了 想 殺 人 ， 也 有 為 的 只 是 想 明 白 一 個 朋 友 臨 死 前 的 一 笑 的 。

導 演 深 作 欣 二 在 短 短 的 兩 個 小 時 內 ， 寫 盡 了 人 性 的 最 醜 惡 和 最 美 麗 的 兩 面 。 在 這 種 人 人 自 危 的 情 況 下 ， 人 性 的 醜 惡 完 全 表 露 無 遺 。 但 人 性 的 好 的 一 面 亦 一 一 呈 現 眼 前 。 這 部 戲 要 說 的 ， 顯 然 比 殺 人 以 及 死 亡 多 很 多 。 它 刻 畫 了 友 情 、 正 義 、 誠 信 、 恐 懼 、 勇 敢 、 愛 恨 、 以 及 生 命 的 意 義 及 價 值 。 很 可 惜 的 是 ， 這 部 電 影 被 列 為 三 級 片 。 不 知 道 青 少 年 怎 樣 才 可 以 領 略 到 這 部 電 影 所 帶 出 的 訊 息 。

此 片 不 乏 出 名 的 演 員 。 計 有 演 出 過 《 極 盜 狂 熱 份 子 》 及 《 鐵 道 員 》 的 安 藤 政 信 ， 演 出 過 《 死 國 》 的 栗 山 千 明 ， 演 出 過 的 《 天 國 之 吻 》 的 藤 原 龍 也 ， 以 及 演 出 過 《 學 校 怪 談 》 的 前 田 亞 季 。 飾 演 相 馬 的 柴 崎 幸 十 分 有 性 格 ， 值 得 留 意 。

總 括 來 說 ， 這 部 電 影 十 分 有 意 思 ， 只 是 背 景 以 及 結 局 有 點 耐 人 尋 味 。 記 得 在 看 這 部 電 影 的 時 候 ， 務 必 要 細 嚼 其 箇 中 所 表 達 的 意 義 。

Battle Royale is nothing royal. It is just a cruel game of survival.

In the new century, there was unrest in Japan. Students did not respect teachers any more. The government, therefore, passed the B.R. Law where a class from all secondary schools in the country was selected each year. The students in the class had to kill each other until only one was alive. This year, a class of 42 9th grade students was selected. The students thought they were going to a graduation party, but was actually put into this cruel survival game without their consent.

What are you going to do if you are one of them?

The background of the story is a bit ridiculous. What could the game do to the minds of all students? I tried to think of a better start that makes more sense. Well, I could not. Anyway, the game is the important part of the story. In the game, the students handled the situation in a lot of different ways: some committed suicide to avoid the cruelty; some actively went out to kill for his/her own survival; some killed for self-defense; some waited for miracles and did nothing but to wait for the coming of the end of their lives; some worked hard to try to change the game. Two people actually voluntarily participated in the game: one did so to kill, and one did so to try to understand the last smile of a dying friend.

Director Kinji Fukasaku brings us the best and worst of human nature in just 2 hours. This film is about more than merely killing and death. It is also about friendship, righteousness/ brotherhood/ sisterhood, trust/ distrust, fear/ bravery, love/ hate, and the meaning and value of life. Unfortunately, this film is deemed a category III film. I wonder how the messages of the film can be received by teenagers who might need to think about the meaning of life most.

In sum, this film is a meaningful one. When you watch the film, please do think about what this film is all about and what you can get out of it.
