製作簡介
為慶祝「康城影展」60週年紀念，35位來自5大洲合共25個國家的大導演聚首一堂，每人活用3分鐘並以「電影」為題，表達他們於戲院裡化身小影迷時的經歷與幻想。
這班現今備受爭議、兼在國際影壇上響譽盛名的大導演，往往把電影提昇至另一層次視覺藝術。縱然每位導演只獲分配極度有限的製作費，卻激發起他們無窮無盡的想像力和發揮空間，創作取向出人意表──有風趣惹笑、感人溫馨；有憤世嫉俗、發人深省。各自過人的理念均於短片中表露無遺，新意無限，手法獨特，觀眾難免心醉和傾倒。

At the outset, there was this challenge: celebrate the anniversary of the Festival, without turning a nostalgic eye back over the past 60 years, so as to reaffirm our admiration and testify our confidence in the great filmmakers of the world. Filmmakers who have never creased to astonish and constantly reinvent the cinema.
We have brought together 35 directors, from 5 different continents and 25 countries, all universally recognised. They have directed, in just 3 minutes each, their state of mind of the moment as inspired by the motion picture theatre, that magical venue of communion of film lovers the world over. The very nature of this project sparked them into being all the more surprising, funny, tender or sarcastic, as well as moving and provocative.
This melting-pot of cultures, origins and talents inspired us to bestow of this feature film as its title, To Each His Own Cinema: 33 individual works for a collective celebration.
The novelty of its form derives from its extreme division, thereby inviting audiences to a constant change of scene and ever delicious savour of lightness. This innovative writing does not reflect some purely mechanical chain of motion-picture theatres; instead it creates a series of improbable encounters in cinemas, whose amazing diversity is sure to surprise one and all. For it is here that one finds individualities who express their aesthetic views, poets who capture a parcel of the world and transfigure it each in their own way.
No filmmaker had any knowledge about other fragments, or even the synopsis of his fellow directors. They agreed to discover them at the same time as the festival-goers themselves, on Sunday, May 20th, during the evening dedicated to the anniversary of the Festival.
