李連杰未來的計畫有2005年Rise to Honor的Playstation 2遊戲上市,另外,他正在拍攝《西藏喇嘛在紐約》(Monk in New York)。

When one of Huo's young apprentices is injured by a master named CHIN, Huo is full of vengeful spite and indignation. He forces Chin to fight him, and kills him with no remorse. Only when he returns home does Huo discover that his victory has cost him the lives of the two people he loves most - his mother and his daughter were killed in brutal revenge. Crazed with grief and shame, Huo flees Tianjin. He wanders for thousands of miles, no longer caring whether he lives or dies. But just as he is ready to give up all hope, he is saved by GRANDMA SUN and her blind granddaughter, MOON, who bring him back to the idyllic village where they live. Guided by their simple kindness and generosity, Huo - who felt he had nothing to live for - slowly began to forget his pain and his desire to fight. One day, a child from the village runs into trouble with a neighboring Siamese tribe. In order to save the boy, Huo reluctantly parries blows from a powerful Thai boxer named BEI CHA. The encounter reawakened Huo's love of martial arts and he began to experiment with a lighter, less aggressive style that would eventually become the legendary Mizong (Missing) Fist. Huo realized that the future of martial arts lay in the spirit of sportsmanship and not brutality. At last, he has found his place in the world, and he knew that he had to return to Tianjin so that he could do the same for Chinese martial arts. Back in Tianjin, an American strongman named O'BRIEN is making headlines by defeating China's fighters and dismissing them as 'Sick men of the East'. Huo challenges the hulking wrestler, and beats him easily with his graceful Missing Fist. This startles members of the Foreign Chambers of Commerce, who worry that Huo's victory would fan the flames of anti-Western sentiment in the Chinese people. They hatch a plan to humiliate Huo by pitching him against four fighters representing the four major foreign powers in China. Huo's childhood friend, Nong, suspects a trap, but Huo sees this as a good opportunity to demonstrate the spirit of sportsmanship. The battle of the century begins! A British boxer, a Spanish swordsman, a Belgian soldier - three formidable fighters step into the ring, and one after another, Huo defeats them all. But the Chamber of Commerce has been saving the best until last. The Japanese challenger, ANNO TANAKA is by far the most skilled competitor. As the two men stand face to face in the arena, the thousand-strong audience waits with baited breath. What happened that day in September, 1910, is something that nobody would ever forget. FEARLESS BACKGROUND Huo Yuanjia For centuries, China was a leading civilization, which easily outpaced the rest of the world in the arts and sciences. But by the time Huo Yuanjia established the Jingwu Sports Federation in 1910, China was a cauldron of civil unrest whose people had been subdued by a lengthy period of military defeats, and foreign occupation. In 1839, the first Opium War began and, for the first time in its history, China found itself militarily and strategically outclassed by foreigners. As a result of the Treaty of Nanjing, the country was forced to open up its ports to hungry European traders and settlers and the opium trade started to flourish. The beginning of the era Chinese historians refers to as "the time of unequal treaties" marked a time of unprecedented degradation for China and its people. Japan's easy victory during the Sino-Japanese War only added to China's woes and further sapped the national morale. Against this uncertain background, Huo learned the true meaning of a fighting spirit and inspired and unified an entire nation. His discovery and teachings will continue to transform the lives of people and enliven the soul of martial arts for all time. FEARLESS PRODUCTION INFORMATION The most accomplished martial arts star working today, Jet Li has built a phenomenally successful career out of his skills as a fighter. Yet for Li, martial arts have always been about more than fighting and violence. "It's not enough to know how to fight." says the star, who also serves as producer on the movie, "You have to understand the spirit of martial arts." The film's director, Ronny Yu, shares Jet Li's vision: "FEARLESS is not an ordinary action film…It is a martial arts film about the futility of violence…I want young people to come out of the theatre feeling seven feet tall, not because they've just seen someone beat somebody up, but because they have just seen someone refrain from killing." The production crew built elaborate sets to capture the beauty and turbulence of turn-of-the-century China and traveled hundreds of miles throughout China to find the ideal backdrop for Huo's redemption. "When we came across this abandoned village in remote Zhejiang province, I knew it was the perfect spot." Explains the director, "But it wasn't easy to film there… We literally had to build a road so that we could access the village." The director also scoured the world for the perfect cast to bring the story to life. Japanese superstar Nakamura Shidou impressively learnt to speak Chinese for his role in the film. "It would have been easier to dub [Nakamura's] lines," explains the director, "But he wanted to speak the words himself, to get into the part … I have huge respect for his talent and integrity". For the important role of Moon, the director met hundreds of actresses, but none of them had the right serene quality that was crucial to the part. "When I saw a photo of Sun Li, I knew immediately that we had found Moon," said the director. But what he did not expect was Sun Li's careful research into her role that found her volunteering at a school for blind children in her native Shanghai. "Moon may be blind, but the love that she shares with Huo is from the heart." Explains actress Sun Li, "Like wushu, their love is a spiritual experience, rather than the physical kind." A character that Jet Li has been developing for over ten years, Huo is imbued with many of Jet Li's own experiences. " In FEARLESS, the audience will recognize that Jet Li is the person who has brought martial arts to the contemporary world," says Ronny Yu, "Jet Li is the modern-day Huo Yuanjia.". "If I am Huo," laughs Li, "Then the director is the blind girl who inspired me to push my acting to a new level, and made me see martial arts in a whole new light." FEARLESS THE ACTION FEARLESS brings together an impressive international cast of world-class fighters. Featherweight Olympic gold medallist Somluck Kamsing joins seven-time World Kickboxing champion Jean Claude Leuyer and World Wrestling All-Stars hero Nathan Jones in a veritable showcase of who's who in international martial arts. For action choreographer, Yuen Wo Ping, this is a dream come true. "Working with people who know how to fight means that we can push the action harder, and experiment more. There are things that these guys can do that ordinary actors could never do, and as I push them to the next level, so they demand more of me". By introducing international fighters to the world of Chinese wushu, FEARLESS also opens up the action sequences to more possibilities. "I want the action scenes to show things that the audience has never seen before", enthuses the film's star and producer, Jet Li, "How a Chinese broad sword hits a Prussian blade and how a Chinese martial artist would fight an American wrestler twice his size. We can really unleash our imaginations... The fighting in this film is exhaustive. We examine every style of wushu there is - different styles, different weapons, different fighters… This is a film for martial artists." The unprecedented caliber of talent on the movie also meant that the director could use coveted long takes to capture the fighters' skill. There is no need to mask a novice fighter with fast cuts and close-ups. "On this film," says Yuen Wo Ping, "There are no parlour tricks. We lay it all bare for the audience… So everybody can tell that the fight you are watching is real thing," FEARLESS is the first film in his twenty-year career in which Jet Li will fight predominantly in an arena. "This presents a challenge when it comes to choreographing the action," explains action choreographer Yuen Wo Ping, "because we can't vary the audience's experience with different sets and locations… So this forces us to be more imaginative with the action and the movement." But what the audience is most eager to see is the pairing of the two most influential martial arts giants in cinema today - international action star, Jet Li and fight choreographer extraordinaire Yuen Wo Ping. For Jet Li, FEARLESS presents a cherished opportunity to work with an old friend. "We have only worked together a few times over the past twenty years, and now we are both busier than ever before. Who knows when we will have the chance to work together again? On FEARLESS, we film every fight scene as though it is the last time we will make a film together. It's going to be like nothing anybody has seen before." FEARLESS DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT The road to FEARLESS began a year ago by chance. I was passing through Hong Kong and over coffee one afternoon, [the producer] Bill Kong asked me which Chinese actor I would most like to work with. His question surprised me because at that time, I had no intention of making a Chinese film again after working in Hollywood for so long. But what surprised me even more was that I knew immediately who I wanted to work with - Jet Li. He is the only actor I know who can really do it all. He has a true martial arts background, he performs all of his own stunts, and above all, he can really act. If I were going to make a Chinese film again after all these years, I would only do it with Jet Li. As soon as he heard this, Bill showed me a script that he had been developing with Jet about the real-life Chinese martial arts champion, Huo Yuanjia. At first, I couldn't see a reason for making this film. Yes, there would be lots of great fight scenes; Yes, Huo is an interesting historical character, but it had all been done before. The story still needed something that speaks to the contemporary audience; It needed a soul. The turning point was when I met Jet Li. He told me that each year in China, more than 280,000 people commit suicide. This troubles Jet, who thinks that young people today have forgotten how to believe in themselves. I was deeply affected by what he said, and all of a sudden I began to see potential in Huo's story. Huo is a patriotic figurehead in Chinese history because he united all the different schools of martial arts under one roof and introduced China to the virtue of sportsmanship. He gave hope to his people at a time when China's national morale was at an all-time low. I felt that with the troubling number of disaffected youth in China today, and with the run-up to the Beijing Olympics in 2008, now was a good time to examine the concept of sportsmanship. But I was adamant that our film should speak to everybody and so the story should not be about Huo Yuanjia the hero, but rather Huo the man. An ordinary fighter, whose pride and arrogance nearly destroys him, but who finds redemption when he learns that martial arts is a spiritual challenge, not a physical one. The Chinese character for 'martial arts' is made up of two parts - characters meaning 'stop' and 'war'. The fact that martial arts is a discipline that promotes peace, not violence, sits at the very heart of our story. FEARLESS ABOUT THE CAST Jet LI (Huo) Jet Li is the rare international film star who is also a world-renowned martial arts master. Li began training at the Beijing Martial Arts Academy at the age of nine. Just two years later, he captured the title of China's National Martial Arts Champion.
